15+ interviews with STEM professionals on Career Skunks

AnEngineerWasHere

Thanks to the buzz around Engineers Week this year on Twitter, I happened to catch the attention of the #AnEngineerWasHere campaign.  This started in Canada and is a guerrilla marketing campaign to highlight the beneficial engineering that exists everywhere in the world around us.

One of the people who was promoting this campaign is Paul Cody, a retired gentleman in Vancouver British Columbia.  He runs the website Career Skunks which has a mission to inspire kids to be happy and successful adults.

He has at least 15 interviews with people from many backgrounds to help educate and inspire kids to pursue their dreams, especially in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).  You’ll find interviews from engineers, interviews from scientists, and interviews from many parents.  There are also interviews with kids and students who are very early in their journey for a STEM career.

We became friends over the web, and now I’m happy to share that an interview with me is on his website too.  You can find it here: Aerospace Careers by Brett Hoffstadt.

The questions there are related to a lot of the themes and tips in my book, How To Be a Rocket Scientist.  How to find a mentor, what kind of career opportunities exist in aerospace, and some more personal questions.

If you choose to check it out I hope you enjoy it.  Beyond that, I encourage you to check out and share the other interviews that Paul has collected on his website.

If you want to learn more about the #AnEngineerWasHere campaign, check out this interview with engineers Dr. Will Whittow and Dr.Sam Rigby.
