How to advance your life with rocket science during Engineers Week

Engineers Week 2017

We are in Engineers Week for 2017!

This could be your best week of the entire year to advance yourself or our world with rocket science.

How is that?  Because in cities across the world and online platforms of all kinds, engineers and engineering companies are engaging with others to talk about engineering, to give demonstrations on engineering, to hold public educational events on engineering, to go into schools to educate about engineering, and find other ways to promote and share the benefits of engineering in our world.

We need to be careful about being too stereotypical or exclusive.  Tip #2 for how to be a rocket scientist is “Expand your concept of rocket science.” The point here is that there is a lot more than engineering (and engineers) in the world of rocket science.  You’ll see examples in my book about chefs, interior designers, artists, finance professionals, legal experts, and others who are all needed to make “rocket science” successful.

But during this Engineers Week, it is a rare and unique opportunity to find and talk with people in the rocket science community who you would never have the occasion to meet otherwise.

If you are one of these people already in the aerospace or aviation fields, please use Engineers Week as an opportunity to share your passion and skills with others who can be inspired by what you do.

We still have many interesting and important problems to solve in our world.  Many opportunities to pursue as well – both on our planet and far beyond.  We need many more people – including current and future rocket scientists – to help us get there.

Find something to do or somewhere to go this Engineers Week so you can advance your career and very likely the future of someone else too.

Need a little more help?  Open a new browser tab into a search engine and type “engineers week 2017 [your city].”  Or replace [your city] with the biggest aerospace or aviation company or facility near you.  (Airports are one prospect.)

We will all benefit when we have capable and successful rocket scientists among us!  Write a comment below if you want some more help in your city or if you have a good event to share with others.  I’ll be glad to hear from you.

Thanks for reading this post.  Bigger thanks for doing something special and unique for Engineers Week!
