Make every day count

Welcome to 2015!! We are all fortunate to see another year in our calendar. I hope each and everyone of my readers and subscribers had a very happy New Years Eve celebration and New Years holiday. I’ve been taking some time off the grid to be with my family.

While it is popular (and maybe stressful for you) to think about new year goals, how we define the start of our year is actually arbitrary. Sure, our Earth does take 365.25 days to make a grand lap around our host star. But when we start the count and when we consider ourselves back at the finish/start line is a social agreement we’ve all made with each other. One year can also be very daunting and intimidating to think about when a person is trying to set goals and dreams.

Instead, let’s resolve to set a daily goal. A goal and commitment to make every single day count. We know what a day is. We know we can manage ourselves within a day. And if we do something each day toward our goal of being a rocket scientist, or better engineer, or better person however it matters to us, at the end of another year we will know we’ve made a tremendous amount of progress.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. But it was built daily. So it is with airplanes, spacecraft, careers, and lives. Make every day count in 2015 and you’ll have a New Year to be proud of.

Thanks for being on the orbital journey with me!  I’m honored and thankful to have each and every one of you along for the ride.
